Question: What are the best store to shop at for ‘model home decor?”?

Answer:

Answer by FaZizzle
There’s not one store–you want to shop SALES and put a house together that looks like it’s worth the money.

Make it look like it’s a home, but let buyers imagine their stuff there. In other words, no family pictures and no clutter.

I love to decorate, and I have some great suggestions for you!!! You can shop at HGTV.com or DIY Network.com. Also, IKEA, Pier 1, Pottery Barn, Laura Ashley, Plow and Hearth.com, The Company Store, Crate and Barrel, LLBEAN, World Over Imports, and even EBAY. If these are a little pricey, you could check out TJMAXX.com, Overstock.com. Smart Bargains.com, HSN.com, BIZ RATE, Shopzilla.com, and SHOP.com. Good Luck!! ~Sharon

You really just have to go to stores you like, keep it simple, don’t overdo. Keep things in the same color families. Usually with one color you carry throughout the home and other colors as accents. Go to other model homes to get ideas. You can find things from lower cost stores to high end designer stores it depends on your budget and the look your going for. Get a notebook with the dimensions of rooms, windows etc. Then make a page for each room with your colors you plan on using, furniture pieces and fabric, etc. Then you have a better idea when you go from store to store of what you are looking for and what you already have.

First you can go to Lowes Hardware Store or to Pier 1 or to Tuesday Morning. They are good stores. For television use, go to HGTV, DIY Network, Trading Spaces, etc.
