The flowers started out crimson, but after I sprayed for Japanese beetles the flowers are now blooming hot pink. Also, what kind of PH do I need to keep the flowers crimson?

Answer:
from this site… http://solutionsforyourlife.ufl.edu/hot_topics/lawn_and_garden/new_red_crape_myrtles.html “All crape myrtles need full sun. This is especially true with red-flowered crape myrtles since shade or cloudy weather can cause some selections to lose their red flower color.” pH and spraying is not affecting your plant….. red is not subject to change from soil pH… and it wouldn’t happen in a weeks time, anyway… color change from soil pH takes a couple years in plants like Hydrangea….. I have a red that is so dependent on sunlight to stay red that too many cloudy days at the bud break time will cause them to come out with white tips, petticoats!!… it’s called picotee in some flowers and is desireable, but not so on clear reds!!…..
