This is a great video but I found a couple of additional techniques helped. For spacer at the wall we found a 1/4 in plywood cut in 4″ x 24″ strips was more sturdy and helped keep the floor from moving. We had an uneven wall and using a lesser gap would have allowed shoe moulding I like better than 1/4 round. Also you need to snug up each piece as you go by tapping along the side and end to tighten them up and lock each piece together. The video shows them just snapping together – not…

I installed my entire flooring after watching this video, and I must say the job finished perfectly. Every house is different so there’ll always be small problems along the way…. but if you have the confidence to even start a job like this, then I’m sure you’ll overcome them with ease. This video certainly helps avoid any major difficulties.

  • TheBrassHole:

@CrayCray4TheGirls Common sense… Ever heard of it?

  • CrayCray4TheGirls:

Wait a minute. He never mentioned the spacers at the end of the video… are you supposed to remove the spacers before nailing the baseboards in, or do you leave the spacers in??

What type of pergo wood laminate do you think he’s using?

  • stevetwalker2000:

laminate flooring sucks! Using all the right tools still makes this job hard. Even using others to help, the pcs just kept coming apart as you install additional rows.
    gave up on this crap.

  • vibezzable:

is there a way to work it out after i measure the room

  • vibezzable:

how do i know how much floor for mi room?

  • raveye:

@red666A this particular laminate flooring came with an underlayment, and according to the video, no vapor barrier was needed for that particular floor.

  • red666A:

Dont you suppose to put a underlayment on the wood before laying down the laminate flooring?

  • fallynfry:

the tapping block and pull bar dont work. they break too easily. just make a block from a 2×4 and use a pry bar.

  • nighthawk5556:

@jonathaneng5 it was a pull bar. I never heard of one but it looks handy

  • ggmm2000:

always use a vapor barrier !!!!!!
    always a good idea

  • eightwillwontcannot:
