When I upgraded to Internet Explorer 9 last week, I lost ALL my yahoo favorites. Can I recover them?
Question: When I upgraded to Internet Explorer 9 last week, I lost ALL my yahoo favorites. Can I recover them?
My yahoo home page appears different than it did before the Internet Explorer upgrade. But since I also recently “upgraded” my Yahoo page recently, I am not sure why my favorites went away, but it was just within the last few days.
I had my favorites neatly categorized so I could find them more easily. Some sites will be very difficult to find again.
It does not look like you can even categorize your favorites on the new yahoo page — Doesn’t look like an “improvement” to me.
I cannot find any way to contact Yahoo to ask them about this issue.

Question: How can I help my 6 yr old son improve his behavior at school?
His mom and I are going through a divorce. Right now, he and his brother live at my home. The judge says that as soon as their mom gets a place to live, the judge will give the boys back to her. This is the only area that hasn’t improved since I got the boys back from their mom. She has told the boys that I won’t let her come home and its all my fault that the family is not together when it was she that walked out on us. The boys are in counseling now but I don’t know how to help my son improve his behavior at school. He’s gone from “Needs improvement” to “Unsatisfactory” and seems to be proud of getting into trouble. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Question: What else can I do to help my students achieve success?
I’m sorry this is going to be lengthy but I just need to vent a little bit and see what people outside the school have to say.
I am currently a 6th-grade math teacher and this is my second year teaching. Last year, I had eighth graders but that was a baptism under fire as I was thrown in with the most problematic eighth graders in the school. Even the best eighth grade teachers were frustrated with their classes.
Anyway, this year I have sixth-graders and everything was going good until the math started becoming a little more “thinkative” where the students would have to do several steps to solve the math. We are currently doing order of operation after spending several weeks on integers, which they just had an assessment quiz on because my school is in “Program Improvement.”
Of all the sixth grade match teachers, my group came in last. The school wants 75% of the students per class passing these assessments and my top group had 59% passing and I had one group that none of them passed it.
At this point, I just don’t know what else to do. I come in everyday ready to go. I do warm-ups with the students on the elmo projector. I have a notebook that I take home and fill-up with notes from study guides on each new lesson for them to use on their homework along with all types of examples they can expect to see with step-by-step instruction how to solve them, all of which I put up on the project for them to get in their notes.
I take homework questions, I show them how to solve them. I even done problems on the upcoming test and quizzes on the projector and when they see the quiz or test, they say that they don’t know how to do this or that I never went over it with them.
Am I being too nice to them and they are just taking advantage? I mean, I haven’t told the kids to shut-up or anything like that. I always say “yes sir” and “yes ma’am” when I call on them. Is there something I’m doing wrong?
Here is something else I forgot to add…..I’m only 25. Could my young age be a factor?

Well after reading this it reminded me of this wonderful teacher I had in 6th grade & 8th grade. My 6th grade science teacher was probably the best teacher I had and I hated science yet loved to attend his classes. What he did was he found a way to keep everyone seated and listening the class. He was pretty kind even when he kicked me from the class he would give me a chair to sit on outside. He would do something different for everyone else. He used a lot of visual aid and movies as basically it made us watch it. I really liked legos when I was younger and he would teach me the structures with legos.
My 8th grade computer teacher was like an older brother. He was young but we could talk with him about everything. Eventually there was a mutual respect & trust between us. I remember talking to him about sports, girlfriend problems and even how we hated some other teachers, and he would be kind and sit down and listen to us. After the year he was like a friend to us rather than a teacher

Question: Christians, isn’t it great to know that belief in God relives stress, tension, and helps us heal faster?
Also it’s amazing that belief in a “concerned” creator, will actually help in medical treatment. You have a 75% increase in positive response to medicine and treatment JUST due to the fact that you acknowledge God and accept him as real.
This is just part of a glorious truth, that the mere belief in God is healthy to your body…amazing, isn’t it?
excerpt…
University of Toronto psychologists reported last year that “believing in God can help block anxiety and minimize stress,” their research showcasing “distinct brain differences” between believers and nonbelievers.
A new study released Wednesday by Rush University Medical Center in Chicago took the idea a step further.
In patients diagnosed with clinical depression, “belief in a concerned God can improve response to medical treatment,” said the new research, which has been published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology.
The operative term here is “caring,” the researchers said. “The study found that those with strong beliefs in a personal and concerned God were more likely to experience an improvement.”
The researchers compared the levels of melancholy or hopelessness in 136 adults diagnosed with major depression or bipolar depression with their sense of “religious well-being.” They found participants who scored in the top third of a scale charting a sense of religious well-being were 75 percent more likely to get better with medical treatment for clinical depression

Return: LOL, this is not the only study to conclude this. There are dozens that confirm the exact same thing, this is just the newest. You lose, please try again.
Kevin: They did not say, but it would probably be that a “real” belief in any caring, concerned creator would most likely have a positive effect. More proof that we are intended toward the spiritual.
communists: Actually this study shows that you guys did significantly poorer in you control of stress and worry, and healing as well. I guess you guys worry too much.
reverend: The fact that you believe it was put here to “impress” you makes me think you have too high of an opinion of yourself. Have a great day.
