I’m going to a friend’s lake house and taking my camper. I need an 110 30a plug. They claim there is a place where the previous owner kept an RV, but I have no idea if they ran power for it. I’m telling them to just open the breaker box and look for a single switch (as opposed to a double one) and see if any of them have a 30 on it. Is this the best way? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. IF they don’t, is this something an electrician would have to rig up?
Answer:
Yes, I would start the search that way. But also have them look around the area that the previous owner parked the camper for a plug. Tell them the plug is larger then a normal house plug and that it has a ground and 2 diagonally shaped straight lines above it. Basically explain to them what pattern the blades on your RV’s cord plug look like and have them find a matching plug. (Keep in mind that different RV’s run off of different amperage and voltage. I have installed various different combos of plugs, the most common being a 50 amp 240 volt.) If not yes, you will need an electrician. It shouldnt run more than $300 including labor.
For many people who are not familiar with roofing terms, standing seam roofing will not really mean at thing. For a somebody who not really interested constructions particularly on roofing, it doesn’t matter whether or not the seams of their roof is standing or sitting, as long as they have a roof over their head that do not leak every time it is rains, that is good enough for them.
However, if you are one of those building owners who want to get involved with the care and maintenance of your building, it would be a good idea to start educating yourself on this matter. Note that there will come a time when you will need to have your roofing systems repaired and you soon come into contact with terms like standing seam roofing. If you have no idea what these things means, you will have a difficult time following the discussions between you building engineer and your re-roofing contractor.
Knowing The Basic
Standing seam roofing is typically composed of preformed pans. These pre-formed pans usually measure about 18 to 24 inches wide. You can find these plans running parallel to the slope of your roof and are then joined to adjacent pans through a double locked system. If you are not very familiar with these things, ask somebody to show what these things look like.
You do not need to climb the roof if you are afraid of heights, just asks somebody to bring you samples of standing seam roofing materials right into your office. When the person delivers the sample materials to your office, ask that person to explain to your how these things work and why you need to put something like these pans in your roofing system. The more you know about standing seam roofing, the more you will be able to contribute something intelligible during discussions with your roofing contractor.
There are many materials that can be used for your standing seam roofing system. However, if your roof is made of metal, you will need to your metal for your standing seam roofing. There are many manufactures and builders all over the country that are manufacturing this type of products.
Since these things are mostly prefabricated, you will need to make sure that you get the correct measurements of your roof so that you can get the right sizes of standing seam roofing. You may also order custom made standing seam roofing for your building if you want to. There are many auckland roofing companies all over the country that accepts made to order standing seam roofing.
There was a time when a roof was nothing more than the top of the cave in which people lived in. In the eighteen hundreds, buildings in the east and parts of the south had wood roofing shingles but in the Wild West, many families literally spent the first winter in a cave dug out of the prairie. It wasn’t until the next year when they could build a small home with a conventional roof to protect them.Even today in parts of the west lay the remnants of homesteader homes long since abandoned. Some of the buildings still stand today. The homes of most first generation homesteaders were usually less than half of the size of the barn. This was the beginning of roofing in the west.
In the present times roofing is not just another part of a house.Without roofing a home would be incomplete. Roofing is the single most important part of any home. There are all kinds of materials and styles for roofs and now more than ever in the past, the roof can last longer even to the point that the first roof may last fifty years or more. New roofing now comes as asphalt shingles, rubber recycled, metal and many other types. The homeowner can now make the roof an architectural statement in itself.
Roofing Contractors
In order for a homeowner to have the roof they desire, they will need to get bids from contractors to do the work. Finding the right re roofing contractors isn’t difficult but it can take some time. A person should never rush to a decision when it comes to any building or remodeling. Ask around to others who have had recent new roofing installed. Also try going to one of the large home warehouses and ask for roofer that they use. This is very effective because the warehouses are not going to use contractors that don’t do good work.
Once the owner has received several roofer that were recommended, the time consuming part of interviewing each contractor begins. Don’t just accept the low bidder and ask when they can do it. Get references from each contractor and call or drive by those homes to see the results. Once the contractor has been chosen and the price is agreed upon, the actual construction will take place. One good thing about roofing contractors is that once they know what roofing material the homeowners want, they can finish the job without needing direction from the owners.

I don’t know what the switches and thermostat should be set to to make it blow cold air! It’s only blowing warm air! Here’s a photo of the settings: http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/6505/47313586.jpg Window unit yes. It’s a Danby. The serial # is 1408010901639. Model # SAC 5008M
Answer:
The thermostat has just fan up to number one and beyond that is the colder settings. The rocker switch at the top is power on or off and the rocker switch below it is for high or low fan. The higher the thermostat is set at doesn’t mean it will blow colder air only that it will run longer and will cycle at a colder room temperature. If it is not blowing cool air at position 5 on the thermostat it is not working.
There are some things that with normally take for granted and think we know until we are confronted with the situation. Some few weeks back I read a post in one of the industry forums about a woman who was having trouble inserting a comforter in the duvet cover. I have written a lot about cheap duvet covers and all that jazz but I have never thought of this a worthy of a post until now.
In this post I provide an easier way on how to go about doing this effectively. This will help save you a lot of time and possible damage to your red duvet covers or other colors you own that may be as a result of “violent” pulling and stretching.
I have met different people who do it differently but one who stood out is a woman who pratically crawls inside her flannel duvet sets to pull the ends of the comforter into the corners. In my opinion, this is too much work – for starters you have to lay the cover on the floor, which can mess it up especially and may even collect some invisible germs.
One easier way to do it effectively is to simply roll it up like a carpet. After you do that simply slip it into the cover and then unroll it. The next one is my favourite way of doing it. Turn the cover inside out and then line it up i.e. the corner of the quilt with the inside seam of the cover. From there you just flip it right side out while still holding on to the corners.
Another option is to buy and use some duvet clips. In order to use these, you need to do like above i.e. turn it inside out, line it up then put the clips at each corner at the seam. A metal clip is fine but try to find a soft foam one for best results. After you’ve attached the clips on to the quilt and seam you can then flip the cover right side out and it will remain in place – and you will be done.
