Rugs can make or break a room. They can either add beauty or distort an appearance. They can also divide or bring together the rest of the room. It’s a make or break idea when it comes to accessorizing with area rugs.

Most of us embellish our rooms depending on what we have and where it fits. With rugs, we create any mood or look. Rugs are portable; come in various sizes and shapes and can also be made to specifications. Rugs give you warm comfort on the cold floor and cut down sound levels. While other elements like art works, furnishings, curtains and accessories add value to the look of a home, a rug has an important role to play in holding the different elements in a room together.

The main difference between rugs and carpets is size. Generally, any piece less than 40 sq. ft in size is called a rug, while larger pieces are referred to as carpets. However, people often use the term rug to differentiate between area rugs and wall to wall carpeting.

Area rugs are made from different materials, where the price is mostly based. Wool and leather shag rugs are more expensive and synthetic ones are quite affordable. Other factors of the varying rates are the labor involved, designs and where the rug was manufactured. Persian rugs made in Iran are more costly than those made in other countries.

Handmade wool, 100% silk or blended wool and silk Oriental or Persian rugs sometimes last for centuries and become more valuable with age. And there are machine made rugs, where sophisticated designs are created on computerized looms at lower costs than similar patterns on handmade rugs.

There are various types of rugs, – including hand made / knotted rugs, hand tufted rugs, machine made rugs, modern rugs, contemporary rugs, traditional rugs, natural rugs, animal hid rugs, to name just a few. Determining which rug will work best in a room can be tricky. Before you invest in good-quality area rugs, you need to consider the following:

Consider the shape and size of the rug. Shapes are rectangular, round, square, oval or octagonal. There are also rugs called runners that are ideal for hallways.

Color and Pattern: Rugs are a visual treat that add much to the dcor of a room. With their impressive designs and refreshing colours, rugs have a definite, eye catching appeal.

Style: Colors, patterns, texture and design all put together give a rug its character which defines its style. It ranges from floral to contemporary to traditional area rugs. They can also reflect a season, or a particular theme.

Texture: The feel of a rug is a subjective matter which depends on you. This is the only feature which cannot be judged while shopping for a rug online.

Take all these factors into consideration when you are picking out a rug for your home or office.

My air conditioner just started blowing warm air. It was working fine until a couple hours ago. The outside unit is still working and the handler is still working just the temperature has changed! What could have happened? Anything that I can do to get the air cold again? I have an appointment for later in the week but I live in Florida and I am hot!!!

Answer:
sound like your unit may have a refrigerant leak and has lost pressure may just need to have it recharged as long as the unit kicks on outside things are work as they should but without the proper pressure it will not cool down inside. grab a couple of fans and a cold one of your choosing and wait for the repairman because you need a license to mess with refrigerants they are dangerous

The Latin name for Lungwort is Pulmonaria, and it is becoming used as the common name. There are many varieties, with different leaf patterns and variations in flower color. They’re nice for texture and variegation even when not blooming.

The home needs to be a relaxing place in which its residents can unwind after a long day. Typically the main rooms of the home get decorated first; after all, these are the places that get the most visitors. We should not forget about decorating the bedrooms with soft comforter bedspreads and fluffy pillows for every member of the family, making their rooms more comfortable and inviting. Making a few adjustments to the bedroom d?cor can turn them from rund-down to welcoming in just a few hours time!

Many people don’t realize that updating the look of your bedroom can be done with a few simple changes. If more people knew that changing comforter bedspreads and adding attractive designer pillows on the bed would make such an enormous difference in the feel of the room, such a huge number of people would do this that sales for such items would skyrocket! When you find bedspreads that are full of colors that you find relaxing, the bed becomes a beacon of rest for the weary. You can bring a splash of color to your bedspread by adding decorative pillows. Finishing off the look with matching curtains can really complete the transformation. Making a few updates with new bedspreads and window curtains can really change the look of a room .

Since the bedroom is where you recharge your battery, it is important that the space be one that really speaks to your senses. This means that bedding should be warm and cozy; throw pillows should be such that they induce a restful slumber. Everyone has a different type of pillow that would induce the most restful sleep; which is the reason that you see so many choices at the stores. Support pillows offer cervical support in multiple sleeping positions. Memory foam pillows are another hot item today. Made from shredded memory foam, this type of pillow actually helps relieve back and neck pain.

In children’s rooms, they love all the latest and greatest styles on their bedspreads, of course. You can easily find items in stores or online; or it can be accomplished with just a little imagination. If your child craves a specific style that isn’t readily available for store purchase, you could create a unique item yourself. Add your child’s favorite animal or theme to a decorative pillow. Simply print a photo onto the transfer paper and then iron on to a pillow case or on fabric that you will use to make a bedspread. Even in the kids’ rooms, window drapes should coordinate with whatever design is displayed on bedspreads and accent pillows so the space looks put together.

A well-coordinated bedroom doesn’t require tedious and messy painting projects. Colorful bedspreads, curtains, and pillows are a great way to update a bedroom all on their own.

I had my tub refinished a while back and some of the finish is chipping off around the drain area. I have a steel tub so I know I have to cover it with something. I bought some epoxy that dries white. Could I use rubber gloves to smooth it out like I would caulk? What if I got it on my hands, could I just wash it off? It says it cures underwater so I think I bought the right stuff. I can’t get the tub refinished again because my husband can’t stand the smell. Any tips? Help, I’m scared!

Answer:
the tub epoxy sold at home stores works great. i dont think a rubber glove is going to give the results you want. try one of those foam brushes. my tub came w/ color matched paint at you applied it w/ what looked like a nail polish brush.

I am installing an exhaust fan in my bathroom. I am actually replacing an old one, and want to be able to install it from underneath. It would be very difficult for me to install it from above, as access to the crawlspace may be tricky. Is it possible to install it from inside the bathroom, attaching it to the existing pipe?

Answer:
It depends on what kind of vent ducting you have. If it’s flexible than you probably can. The point being is you have to connect the vent duct to the new fan, preferably wrapping the connection with duct tape. If you’re replacing the fan because the fan motor is not working properly, you can leave the fan housing in place and just replace the motor. Find the manufacturer name and model number and order a new motor.

The mechanisms that are used to open and close blinds
range from simple cords and easy to use chains to
remote controlled electronic devices. Mini blinds
will block out sunlight, prevent people from
looking into your house, and also add style to
your home. Mini blinds come in various styles
and you can even make them yourself at home.
They go great with lighted purses too.

Mini blinds are available in a wide range of
sizes and colors, along with custom sizes and
styles. This allows you to control the direction
and amount of natural light while still
providing a sense of insulation. There are some
blinds styles that even adjust to allow breezes
to flow from the window into the room by raising
or tilting the slats.

With one style, slats are sandwiched between
two sheer fabric layers that diffuse light when
the slats are open. With another style, the
slats are laminated vertically to a single
fabric layer for a curtain effect.

Mini blinds can come in wood, faux wood, vinyl,
and even aluminum. Wood type blinds offer
rich, subtle colors along with unique textures.
The classic types of blinds look elegantly
simple and can help to enhance a contemporary
look or even add a classic flair to your home.

A less expensive alternative to wooden mini
blinds is faux wood, or a synthetic wood
made of PVC or a composite material. Aluminum
is a good choice as well, as it provides a
low cost and durable solution to your window
problems. Aluminum mini blinds are also
easy to clean and easy to maintain. The
least expensive variety is vinyl blinds,
that come in standard sizes only.

My washing machine is about five years old. It is a Whirlpool- not sure of the model number. For about six months now the washer has been messing up when it comes to the spin cycle. First it would get stuck and not spin. All I had to do was go in there, spin the drum myself until I heard a click and then it was fine. It got most of the water out of the clothes. Now, I still have to do the same thing to get it to spin but it is not getting enough of the water out of the clothes. I can actually wring water out of them when they come out. Yes, I know that overcrowding a washing machine can cause it to do this. This is/was my first major appliance purchase and I have done everything that I know of to care for it including not over loading it. I also know that if the load is off balance it will not spin right. Sadly, I wish that was the problem. Do you know what might be wrong with it? Could it be the pump again?? I have gone through three pumps in the last six years (family of five and two loads a day). But with each time the pump went out the washer was leaking water into the floor and not filling up.. I am thinking it’s a motor problem but not sure. Please help! Also, if you do know what the problem might be.. can I fix it myself? Thanks in advance. I will choose a best answer.

Answer:
Sounds like the motor coupler is broken or belt is slipping. Try and find the model number on the washer and look it up on a search engine. I found these website which my be helpful to determine if the coupler is the problem and how to replace them http://ezinearticles.com/?Whirlpool-Washer-Wont-Spin—How-To-Tell-If-It-Is-A-Broken-Motor-Coupler&id=1019152 http://www.davesrepair.com/DIYhelp/DIY285753.htm
