I have a couple of hangling plants outside including a strawberry plant. They are hanging from poles with no overhead protection. They do have drainage holes in the bottom of the containers though. Can I leave them outside when it rains or will a heavy rain ruin or drown them even with the drainage holes? Thanks.

Answer:
Heavy, torrential rain for hours may waterlog and batter them, but otherwise a good rainfall won’t hurt them.

Answer:
First the cabinet should have a nailing strip along the top back of the cabinet. You must put your screws through this part of the cabinet. It is best to pre-drill the cabinet before you attempt to hang it. I like to have my screws started in the cabinet. Use at least 3″ screws #12 is a good size. To determine where to [lace your screws you need to do 2 things. First decide where the edge of the cabinet is to be and second locate a stud. Draw a plumb line along where the edge of the cabinet, and another along where the top or bottom will be when hung. This will help you in hanging the cabinet straight and plumb. From the line at the future edge of the cabinet measure to the center of the first stud. Transfer this measurement to the inside of the cabinet. Do not forget to allow for the width of the side wall of the cabinet. This is usually 1/2″ sometimes more. Drill a whole for your screw through the nailing strip, repeat for ever available stud (16″ OC) that will be behind the cabinet. Now with the help of a strong back lift the cabinet into place and put your screws through the cabinet and int the wall. After the first screw is in place check your plum and level, if OK then screw in the rest of the screws. After the screws inside the cabinet are in place i like to put an additional screw below the cabinet under the bottom shelf through the lip. Another tip you may find helpful, I like to remove the doors when I hang cabinets then replace and align them later.

There should be a drain tube that catches water from under the coil inside the refrigerator and carries it out and into a pan just above the floor where it evaporates. The tube is probably clogged with mold or crud and the water is not draining. Locate the clog and remove it and then flush the tube with a bleach solution.

We have 2 trees growing in our backyard from seeds from other trees that blew in. One is a Red Oak(the leaves are small and greenish red) and the other ones leaves are just green and a different shape. I’m not sure of the tree with the green leaves though! Lowes says that its a Shumard or a red oak but the leaves are only Green! The tree with Green leaves we are replanting in the front yard because where it is now is too close to the house! I would wait until the seeds have gotten at least 4 or 5 ft Tall.. before trying to transplanting them.. to the front… the seeds to establish root SYSTEM to continue to grow health… If it doesn’t get a healthy start the Texas heat will kill it this summer! if —you do not keep water on it once a week… better to water once a week very deep.. rather than everyday.!!! . the water soaks deeper into the ground that way.. We just moved into a new rental house. I want to take off the showerhead and replace it with my own – which shouldn’t be difficult. However, the shower head doesn’t have any type of nut on it that can be unscrewed to remove the nozzle. It seems like the supply pipe runs straight to the nozzle with no way of removing it. Any advice? Can i saw off the pipe right above the nozzle and add an attachment that will allow me to connect my own nozzle? Will I have to remove the tile to unscrew the neck from the supply pipe?

Answer:
The entire pipe is screwed into the water supply line. Take a pair of channel locks and unscrew the pipe from inside the wall. You will have to get a new pipe at the hardware store with threads on both ends. That way you can connect your own shower head. Use teflon tape on both threads at the end of the new pipe to prevent leakage. There should be caulk around the pipe. Remove the caulk and you should be able to turn the pipe without damaging the tile. They had to make a hole in the tile to get the pipe through.
